Perfectionism

One of the hardest things about writing every day, is that I know it could be better.

“Striving to better, oft we mar what’s well.” - Shakespeare

But I simply don’t have the time to blog every day and be 100% happy with what I’ve written.

“Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without.” - Confucius

If I didn’t drop my standards, this blog wouldn’t exist. And by writing this, I’m waging my own little war on perfectionism.

“The best is the enemy of the good.” - Voltaire

Perfectionism is often my worst enemy in almost every aspect of my life. It holds me back with languages, code, applications, new habits, day to day life. Either I regret and feel anxious about imperfect decisions and actions, or I put off making them completely.

“Premature optimization is the root of all evil” - Donald Knuth

But I guess a lot of people have realised this already.

p.s. I didn’t proofread :o
